Animals Win in US State Ballots!

Congratulations to every organization and each individual who gave their time and financial support to two successful pro-animal propositions in the U.S. elections!

In California Proposition 2, which requires factory farms to provide enough space for animals to stand up, turn around and extend their limbs, was approved by 62% of the electorate (38% opposed) as of 11 p.m. pacific time. This measure effectively ends intensive factory farming practices.

In Massachusetts Question 3, which bans greyhound racing in 2010, was approved by 56% (44% opposed).
