Mother Jones’ 2008 Student Activism Survey

US magazine Mother Jones publishes an annual Student Activism Survey, which, this year, includes positive and negative statistics.

In the category “What’s Activism Anyway?,” 57% of students and 46% of nonstudents thought this included “Being a vegetarian;” however, in the category “Most Important Issues” 1% of students and 1.5% of nonstudents said it was animal rights.

Anyone care to suggest why?
