The delicious vegan Moroccan-style meal! The Hastings Veggie Dinner Club met this weekend at the delightful home of one of our members. We enjoyed a delicious vegan Moroccan-style meal and a selection of desserts which were prepared and cooked by a group of us. The savoury menu included a selection of salads featuring courgettes, an orange salad with soya yogurt and mint, a couscous salad, a tabouleh salad and bowls of marinated tomatoes and Hastings-grown olives. The hot savouries included a tofu and chickpea vegetable tajine featuring aubergines, Kefta meat balls and a “Cheatin’ chicken” flavoured with Moroccan spice. The dessert menu included chocolate cake covered with a chocolate ganache, tofu cheesecake and date squares with the secret ingredient of brandy!
