Monk’s House

The Grumpy Prince of Vegan Darkness Loitering Outside Monk's House.
Without claiming any pretence of expertise in Virginia Woolf, the Grumpy Vegan admits to reading her fiction, non-fiction, diaries and letters with great pleasure. Her writing is without question some of the best to read anywhere. Her life was also fascinating. (And we won’t go into that awful book and film, The Hours, which plagiarised her writing style and her life.) Recently, when we explored Beachy Head we detoured to Virginia and Leonard Woolf’s home, Monk’s House, in Rodmell, East Sussex.

To stand on such sacred ground was humbling. And to think that it will be open to the public soon takes one’s breath away.
