His macho animal-killing practices don&#8217;t appeal.  Consequently, I&#8217;ve never picked up any of his books.<\/p>\n<p>But when it comes to Ernie&#8217;s pack of six-toed cats at his Key West home, well, that&#8217;s another story.<\/p>\n<p>You see, the USDA is attempting to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/aponline\/us\/AP-Hemingway-Cats.html\">force<\/a> the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum to be licensed because more than 50 descendants of the old boy&#8217;s cats continue to live there.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think a pack of old Ern&#8217;s much-loved moggies should be a USDA priority.  Someone needs to sort out the USDA&#8217;s priorities.
