{"id":36,"date":"2006-07-10T20:27:41","date_gmt":"2006-07-11T00:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.grumpyvegan.com\/blog\/?p=36"},"modified":"2006-07-10T20:27:41","modified_gmt":"2006-07-11T00:27:41","slug":"36","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grumpyvegan.com\/blog\/2006\/07\/10\/36\/","title":{"rendered":"Canton\u2019s Dog Park\u2014Baltimore\u2019s Own"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment\" aria-labelledby=\"figcaption_attachment\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 210px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.grumpyvegan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/CantonDogPark.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.grumpyvegan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/CantonDogPark.jpg\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Canton's Dog Park Even has T-shirts to Buy!<\/figcaption><\/figure>As founding president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/cantoncommunity.org\/go\/CCA.php\">Canton Community Association<\/a> (yes, the Grumpy Vegan does have a life) I, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, designed, created, installed, funded and managed Baltimore City&#8217;s first (and sadly still, only) <a href=\"http:\/\/cantoncommunity.org\/go\/dogpark.php\">dog park<\/a> in our neighborhood.  <\/p>\n<p>A true dog park is a fenced area where dogs can run free and safely with their own kind.<\/p>\n<p>The reason why all of this is mentioned is because the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/news\/opinion\/bal-ed.dogs10jul10,0,2369677.story?coll=bal-opinion-headlines\">Baltimore Sun<\/a> today published an astonishing editorial, &#8220;The Sniff Test,&#8221; in support of dog parks.  &#8220;It&#8217;s good for the dogs, and it&#8217;s good for everyone else,&#8221; it proclaims.<\/p>\n<p>Who&#8217;d a thought that the Sun&#8217;s editorial writers were Marxists? <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dog owners of Baltimore get organized.  The city needs you.  Your dog needs you.
