So, it&#8217;s nice to read that my gut reaction, so to speak, is supported by scientific research. The study, published in the <em>Clinical Infectious Diseases<\/em> journal, noted that the DNA testing of the meat samples suggest that the animals were the major source of contamination. <em>No shit, Sherlock<\/em>. As the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2011\/04\/110415083153.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Science Daily<\/a> Web site reported,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Drug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus, a bacteria linked to a wide range of human diseases, are present in meat and poultry from U.S. grocery stores at unexpectedly high rates, according to a nationwide study by the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). Nearly half of the meat and poultry samples &#8212; 47 percent &#8212; were contaminated with S. aureus, and more than half of those bacteria &#8212; 52 percent &#8212; were resistant to at least three classes of antibiotics, according to the study published April 15 in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One reason why the Grumpy Vegan doesn&#8217;t eat meat, eggs and dairy is because it&#8217;s diseased animal corpses and poisoned animal secretions.
