State officials have described the siege as a &#8220;critical situation&#8221; and warned that the town did not &#8220;have the luxury of time&#8221;, <strong>after the camels blocked the town&#8217;s airstrip &#8211; preventing medical evacuations &#8211; and began to contaminate the water supply.
